VIRTUOUS Project Holds Successful Kick-off Meeting in France
On March 19–20, 2025, the VIRTUOUS consortium officially launched the project during its kick-off meeting, hosted by PUI in France. The two-day meeting gathered 21 partners from 11 countries, marking the beginning of a collaborative effort to enhance the security and resilience of places of worship and religious communities across Europe.
The agenda included an overview of the project’s objectives and challenges and in-depth sessions on all work packages. Discussions focused on the development of risk and vulnerability assessments, security awareness activities, BIM-based security recommendations, and the development of an Online Knowledge Hub.
Interactive workshops covered coordination, communication strategies, and the planning of the first deliverables. The meeting concluded with a review of responsibilities and the creation of a clear action plan for the first six months of the project.
The VIRTUOUS project, funded by the European Union under the ISF-2024 Programme, will serve as a collaborative platform providing tools, guidelines, and resources to strengthen the protection of religious spaces across Europe.
